Microsuction & Water Irrigation
Microsuction involves using a fine tube connected to a controlled suction machine to gently remove ear wax. The practitioner carefully adjusts the suction intensity for the patient’s comfort. While the process can be slightly noisy and may cause a brief cooling sensation, it is safe and won’t affect hearing.
Water irrigation uses a specialised machine to gently pulse warm water into the ear canal, dislodging wax, which flows out into a collection cup. Unlike traditional syringes, this method ensures safety and precision. The practitioner will regularly check the wax's position with an otoscope, keep the patient informed, and ensure everything is normal. Afterward, the ear is dried, and a final check is performed to confirm the ear canal and eardrum's health.
